5 Best Laptops for Realtors And Real Estate Agents – Detailed Reviews

Finding the best laptop for realtor is not a simple task.

Because you don’t want to spend the money on laptop features you don’t need. And because you don’t want to experience buyer’s remorse if you get a laptop and then realize that you missed on a helpful feature some other laptop had in the same price range.

That is why knowing exactly what kind of features are beneficial for realtors will help you choose the laptop for you and your budget.

I have a few friends that are working in real estate agencies and all of them agree that they prefer laptops that are portable, have long lasting batteries, have a touchscreen with a stylus and are overall strong enough to use any software they need.

But that doesn’t really cover the whole story.

What software they use? Which OS they prefer? What screen is preferred?

Well some of them love to make video presentations of the real estate they are selling, while others draft documents and use the stylus for signing clients, writing emails, following up on leads, prospecting, using client management software and etc.

I chose laptops of different strengths and budgets so that you can find the right one for your needs. But first, let’s take a quick look at some of the areas your laptop should cover and why.

  • Portability and size is usually the most important factor for realtors because you will be taking the laptop on site and on client meetings.
  • A durable battery is your second priority. You need autonomy for the whole day of use.
  • Touchscreen with a stylus is a very handy feature that a lot of realtors like to use. You can draft a contract in MS Word for example and have your client sign it on the spot. (depending on the contract, that may not be always possible but when it is, it is quite handy)
  • Strong enough CPU that will perform all of your real estate software with ease. It should provide a lag and stutter free experience. You don’t have time for that.
  • SSD storage is always preferred. It is even better if you can have both SSD and HDD. We will discuss this more later.
  • RAM memory shouldn’t be under 8GB. Anything more is a plus.
  • Proper connectivity options. You should have HDMI for presentations, USB ports for USB flash to copy client files and etc.
  • Graphics card. This is last on the list. Unless you like to do a lot of video editing for your properties then you don’t really need a dedicated graphics card.

5 Best Laptops for Realtors Reviews

The reviews below feature a smaller number of laptops than other articles on the internet. That is because I listed only the best laptops for realtors for various budgets and needs. No need to present you with 50 options.

It is way better for you if I go into detail when I write about each laptop.

That way you will make a much more informed decision. You could go to Amazon and see 200 laptops but without in-depth overview, you could make a mistake and not buy a laptop with the best price to quality and features you need ratio.

Good Price | Quality | Realtor Friendly Features

This is what you are after. A laptop that covers all of these in your preferred way is what you need. I covered the best of those below with narrowly focused reviews. None of them will fail you or disappoint you in my humble opinion.

Now let’s go.

1. Dell Inspiron 13 2-in-1 7391 – Best overall

Last update on 2021-10-23 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API

Dell has made a name with a lot of products and mainly with their famous XPS line. But I decided not to go with the Dell XPS 13 but to recommend the Dell Inspiron 13 7391 as the best laptop for realtors. Mostly because it has a 2 in 1 capability and an inbuilt stylus.

This is a killer laptop.

Incredible performance, very lightweight and portable, 4k beautiful display and great battery life. Oh, it also doesn’t have heating issues and its keyboard is excellent.

All while being really affordable.

This laptop has a 10th generation Intel i7-10510U processor which is a very power efficient CPU. It is a quad core setup but it has 8 threads thanks to HyperThreading technology. This CPU will perform pretty much any task you throw at it from the field of real estate.

// Managing your real estate software will be fast and efficient. Likewise, any work in Microsoft Office programs (or their alternatives) will be a stutter free experience. Considering that this is an i7 processor of 10th generation there isn’t anything that you won’t be able to do when it comes to the realtor work.

However, as this laptop only has integrated Intel HD graphics, you will not be able to do highly intensive visual tasks like video editing or similar. If you are searching for a laptop for real estate work with a good dedicated graphics card then the next one on the list will suit you.

RAM and Storage

The laptop comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM memory which is more than what you would need in your work. More is always better. You could easily keep 50 chrome tabs open with it and all of your real estate software without any issues.

It comes with a 512GB SSD storage with an additional 32GB of Optane. First lets talk about the SSD.

The SSD is large enough for you to keep most of your files on hand. Using an SSD your programs will open swiftly and the Operating System, in general, will start in mere seconds. Saving you a lot of time when compared with HDD storage.

Additional 32GB of Optane memory is going to make things even better. Not a lot of people have even heard about Optane memory. The best way to describe it without being too technical is to say that Optane is something between the SSD and RAM. It works like RAM memory but it is not deleted after the laptop goes off. Its job is to store your most frequently used files and programs so that they can be even faster the next time you open them.

This laptop is really optimized for speed and will not let you down.

The Display

image of the Dell Inspiron 13 laptop

This laptop has a really good 4k display with a diagonal of 13.3 inches. It is small enough for improved mobility and beautiful enough for your meetings with clients. Showing properties or anything else to your clients on this display will really draw the best of it and make it look more professional.

The display has touchscreen support and comes with an inbuilt stylus pen. Perfect for having your clients sign a contract or anything else. It is also good for making sketches if you would like to brainstorm ideas with your clients.

The display in general is really great and doing things outside of your work like watching movies will be a great experience.

Portability, battery and final words

In the end, the most important feature. It is very lightweight, small and portable.

This laptop will not bulk up your backpack or laptop bag. You will easily be able to hold it in your hand in the tablet mode and discuss things with the clients, show them things on it and even sketch it for them if that is what it takes to seal the deal.

This machine doesn’t very run hot but its fans can get loud at times.

It has a beautiful black design, full size HDMI port, USB 3.1, a Thunderbolt 3 port and a headphone jack. To top it all off the battery is pretty good and can last you about 6-7h of normal use.

When you take the price into the account and all of the features I think that this is a best laptop for realtors overall.

2. ASUS ZenBook 13 Ultra-Slim UX334FLC-AH79, Royal Blue

Last update on 2021-10-23 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API

The ASUS ZenBook 13 is the best laptop for real estate agents that also need a dedicated graphics card in order to do video and image editing.

This laptop is lightweight, built for productivity with a special secondary display, has a very good main display, a lot of fast storage and RAM memory and it has a lot of power under the hood.

Processor and the dedicated Graphics Card

I chose this laptop because it has Intel’s 10th gen Core i7-10510U CPU that has low power consumption in combination with the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 dedicated graphics card. These two will handle video editing and similar visually intensive tasks without much hassle.

The NVIDIA GeForce MX250 has 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM memory which is going to improve your video rendering and photo editing by a lot. However, keep in mind that this graphics card will suffice for some lightweight video edits. Rendering a 20minutes 4k video with a lot of effects will easily overwhelm this laptop. It will get the job done but you just might wait a bit longer.

You won’t find a light and portable Windows machine with a stronger video card than this one for now. You could decide to go with a much stronger model (and less portable) if you really need a lot of rendering power but you most likely don’t.

This graphic card is also going to provide you with enough gaming power to run most titles at lower settings or older titles at medium or higher settings.

The Displays and Productivity

Image of the ASUS ZenBook 13

The ASUS ZenBook 13 has two displays. Lets first talk about the main display.

The main display has a 13.3” diagonal with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p. It features a screen to body ratio of 95% which makes it be almost bezel-less. The colors are very nice with a great color gamut. It is an IPS panel and looks just great.

However, the main display has only 250nits of illumination. That is low in my opinion. I wish they made it have at least 300 nits. You will be able to work with it but any outdoor work and visibility will be low. This does contribute to the battery but it is still low enough to be considered problematic.

Now onto the smaller display which is the main attraction. The second display actually doubles as the touchpad and the display at the same time. It is a really quality feature that makes this laptop one of the best laptops for realtors as it boosts your productivity by a lot.

The second display has a 5.65 inch diagonal with an FHD resolution and it is of course a touchscreen display. It supports writing on it with a pen so it is a great option for acquiring signatures and sketching things on it.

Asus also has a whole range of useful productivity features that this second display can offer. However, I find the fact that you can place a window and an app on it the most beneficial. Think about it. You can open your favorite real estate software on your main display and keep a list of prospects on the second display and input your client’s info or you could open an email on the second display while being on the video call on the main display.

Storage and memory

This laptop comes with the 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD which is one of the fastest types of SSD you can have today. It uses the PCIe sockets which are far faster than the SATA III connectors. Therefore, the NVMe SSDs outperform the regular SATAIII SSDs by an incredible margin.

It has 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM memory on board. This is a low energy consumption type of RAM – good for the battery. With this much storage room and RAM, you will be able to keep all of your client’s data, real estate images, contracts and software on the go.

Portability, battery and final words

This laptop is very portable considering its weight and size. However, it is not a 2 in 1 machine so you can’t just fold it in the tablet mode and carry it around while talking with the clients.

Battery life is very good thanks to the proper optimization. It will last you throughout the whole day with light to medium use.

The ASUS ZenBook 13 is a very productivity oriented laptop with a beautiful professional design. Easily one of the greatest choices for real estate agents.

3.  Microsoft Surface Pro 7 – 12.3”

Last update on 2021-10-23 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API

For the third recommendation, I decided to go with the Microsoft Surface Pro 7. This is the best laptop for realtors when we focus on portability as much as possible. I decided to go with the medium performance model for the review in order to stay with the realistic price that someone in real estate would be willing to spend.

This is a great laptop performance wise with excellent battery life and portability. It is more a tablet than a laptop but it has keyboard and mouse capability. It comes with a great pen and the machine supports high quality pen input with various pressure point sensitivities and etc.

image of the Microsoft surface pro 7

Processor and a graphics card

This model has a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G4 Processor that will handle all of your real estate agency tasks like email work, running real estate software, prospecting clients, managing properties and etc. It also has an i7 processor version but considering how portable this device is, it is more affordable and reasonable to go with the i5 version. The i7 version is more expensive.

It uses an integrated graphics card called Intel Iris Plus Graphics which is pretty good for photo editing and some light video editing. Nothing too powerful but you don’t really need anything special for real estate work.

Storage and memory

It has a 256GB SSD and a LPDDR4x RAM memory of 8GB. The SSD drive is not that big but it can still hold most of your work aside from the big image and video databases. You would probably need cloud storage for those depending on how many media files you would need to be stored.

The 8GB RAM on the other hand is going to serve you just fine for real estate work. You probably won’t be able to hold 50+ google chrome tabs open on it, like with the two models above but that’s the price of big time portability.

image of the microsoft surface pro 7 display and keyboard

The Display Quality

The screen size is 12.3” in diagonal with an aspect ratio of 3:2 (a lot of people love the ratio but think if you would find it favorable). Resolution sits at 2736 x 1824 which gives this display a 267 PPI. It is a 10 point multi-touch display that of course supports and comes with its own high quality pen.

The display is beautiful, the colors look natural and everything is crystal clear. The color gamut is great and presenting media on this laptop to clients is going to leave them stunned.

Portability and battery

This is one of the lightest serious machines you can find today. It is small in size and very portable. You could easily just hold it as a notebook in your hand while working with clients on the spot. Not many machines out there can brag about being this light and being able to perform as a powerful laptop.

The battery is excellent with the Microsoft Surface Pro 7. Microsoft says that it lasts about 10.5h of typical usage and in real life that is very near to the actual durability. This little machine will not let you down. Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is one of the best computers for real estate agents portability wise.

4. Best From Apple – Apple MacBook Air with Apple M1 Chip

Last update on 2021-10-23 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API

I would say that this is the best laptop you can get in 2021 for real estate agents if you would like to go with an Apple product. If you prefer Windows laptops then you can skip this one but at least read what I have to say about it. Maybe you change your mind.

However, if you prefer or don’t mind Apple devices then you should scrape all other options in the article and just go with this Apple MacBook Air.

And this is why.

Apple has released its M1 chip models of Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. These M1 chips are revolutionary to put it lightly. Yes, to put it lightly. They offer incredible performance with the absolute lowest power consumption. You won’t find a combination like this anywhere else for now.

Processor and graphics – M1

The processor in this Apple laptop is an Apple-designed M1 chip that has 8 physical cores that is ultra efficient with power consumption. It is also one of the strongest CPUs that was ever released. This may sound like an overstatement but it is not.

// This laptop will easily perform seriously heavy tasks like advanced video editing without breaking a sweat and without any lag. Desktop PCs can hardly achieve that. We are talking revolutionary power here.

It also has an integrated GPU that has its own 8 cores within the same chip as the CPU. These graphics are good enough to do pretty much anything. Excluding heavy gaming.

You don’t need that much power for real estate work obviously but why wouldn’t you buy it considering that it costs just a bit more than the two laptops above?

image of the Apple MacBook Air

This is a machine on a whole other level. Not an overstatement, saying it again.

Storage and Memory

You can choose to get a 256GB or 512GB ultra fast SSD storage on Amazon while the Ram memory is available only in 8GB at the time of this writing.

I would suggest going with the 512GB storage option because considering the quality of this machine you could buy it now and use it for years to come. That way you secure yourself to have enough storage for your needs.

The RAM is ultra efficient and works with the method of unified memory. Meaning that it is used for various purposes easily and with as little latency as possible.

Image of the MacBook Air Retina Display

The Display

Just like any Apple product, it will give you an amazing screen. The colors are beautiful with the 13.3” Retina display and its P3 wide color gamut that offers 25% more colors than the sRGB.

The resolution of 2560 x 1600 will make everything look really sharp and clear. Showing your clients the property images and videos will look highly professional and convincing. Also working with any documents and text, in general, will be really easy on the eyes thanks to the sharpness.

Portability and battery

This is probably the part that you will want to hear the most. This laptop is incredibly lightweight and has a ground breaking battery life.

// The battery itself stayed pretty much the same as their previous model but it lasts much longer. Again it is all thanks to the revolutionary M1 chip and its efficiency. The battery can easily last you a whole day of mid to heavy use. This is not an overstatement like many manufactures are known for. It actually can last that long.

And in the end, I would like to say that it doesn’t have a fan. Cooling is passive and it doesn’t run hot at all. This makes it a great choice when talking with clients as it will not make any noise.

5. Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 – Best Budget Laptop For Real Estate Work

Last update on 2021-10-23 / Affiliate links / Images from Amazon Product Advertising API

For the last review I will go with the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5. It is affordable and it will fulfil all of your needs as a real estate agent.

It is lightweight, has a touchscreen and stylus, performs as a 2 in 1 unit, has enough power, good battery life and a decent screen.

Processor and GPU

It has the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor which is designed for use with thin and light mobile PCs. This processor has 6 physical cores and it is very efficient and powerful. Pretty much all of your work will be handled without any stutter.

This CPU has an integrated Radeon RX Vega 6 graphics card which is pretty good for general work and some light gaming. It is also helpful when doing light photo and video editing. Anything heavy and it will reach its limits pretty fast.

This is a great CPU from AMD and all of your real estate management software will run like expected.

The Storage and RAM

It comes with 256GB of SSD storage which is great for speed but as with Microsoft’s laptop above, it doesn’t really have enough memory for everything. You will probably need to have a cloud of some sort for your big media files. If you don’t plan on using much media on it then this SSD will be good enough for documents, real estate management software and etc.

With its 16GB of DDR4 RAM memory, you will be able to multitask like a pro and have 50+ google chrome tabs open, multiple software open like CRM solutions and etc.

image of the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5

The Display

This laptop has a 10 point touch touchscreen full HD display with a diagonal of 14 inches. The display is good but not as good as the options above. The color gamut of this display is a bit weak and the illumination is not the best either with its 270 nits.

It is decent and in your day to day use you will not really feel any significant problems with it. Considering its price and its other features, I think that it is as good as it gets.

It comes with its own pen and any sketching, writing on it will be a very good experience.

Battery and Portability of Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5

This laptop is very portable and pretty lightweight. You will easily flip it in tablet mode and use it with your clients, sketching and showing them the properties. It is a bit heavier than the others above but it is a budget option.

When it comes to the battery, it is excellent for its price. Thanks to the optimized AMD Ryzen CPU, it can achieve around 7-8h of use which will last you the whole day unless you are constantly working on it. It also charges quite fast thanks to its 65W charger that can net you about 80% charge in about an hour.

All in all, as a cheaper option, this laptop from Lenovo really ticks off all of the boxes. This is a great laptop for real estate agents that are looking for something a bit more affordable but don’t want their work to suffer in any significant way.

CPUAMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 6 cores, 6 threads. Base Frequency 2.30 Ghz , Turbo 4.00 Ghz
GPUAMD Radeon Graphics, 6 core
Storage256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD

Display14″ diagonal FHD, IPS touchscreen display
Battery3-cell, 52.5Wh
Dimensions12.91″ x 9.01″ x 0.7″ , 3.3 lb

As a realtor, you know that time is money so don’t waste it with inadequate laptops. Get yourself something that is powerful enough and portable with a good battery. Your work will be much easier if you have a reliable machine.

If the Apple products are fine by you then please just go with the newest Apple MacBook Air. You will not regret it.

On the other hand, if you prefer Windows or your real estate management software is not really available on the macOS then you should go with something like the Dell Inspiron 13 if you want the premium quality. Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is also a great choice if you are looking for something a bit more affordable.

And if portability is your absolute main concern then the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is going to prove best for you. Out of all the laptops I reviewed here, this one is definitely the most portable while still keeping the good features others have.

If you found these reviews and guide helpful then please share it with your fellow realtors. Maybe it’s their time to upgrade their configurations as well. Thanks for reading and wishing you all the best in your real estate career if you are just starting and if you are already there, then I hope the new laptop serves you well, whichever it may be.
